Therefore I've listed the top #3 mistakes people make when drawing cars. Avoiding these awful mistakes will improve your drawing drastically.

#1: Thinking «I can't draw»
This is the most obvious one. Everyone who's not that into drawing has had this thought more than once. But fear not, this is only a mental block. Think of it as a roadblock. In order to reach your goal, you must pass this roadblock. It's just like when you learned how to ride a bike. You never thought you would be able to steer that thing with only two wheels, but look at you now. Nothing is easier. The same thing applies to drawing cars; You just have to pass that roadblock.

#2. Thinking too much
This is also quite obvious, once you think about it. You have the image of the car clearly in your head, and even before starting you're worrying about everything. DO NOT think of the small details, and DO NOT worry about anything else than the basic shapes and forms when first starting with a drawing.

#3. Drawing without a plan
Now this is a serious one. If you only plan to «draw a car» without having any idea of what kind of car you want to draw, you're not going to learn how to draw cars. You won't be able to draw cool cars. You have to have some image in your head before starting, or else your drawing won't be as good as it should be. Start out with the basic shape. If you want to draw a Corvette, you need to know how it's shaped, where the little details comes in (but remember, the basic stuff first!) and all that.
